Renee Morehead
Attorney
Renee is a dedicated associate attorney at Nelson Law Group with a passion for family law and a strong commitment to advocating for children and families. Her journey with the firm began as an intern, grew into an externship, and ultimately led to her joining the Nelson Law Group team. She approaches her work with compassion, curiosity, and an eagerness to continue learning and growing as an attorney.
A Keller native, Renee’s path to the legal profession was anything but conventional. She earned her undergraduate degree in marketing and business management from Texas Tech in 2021 before working in digital marketing and data privacy. Part of her role involved contacting attorneys about potential privacy law and policy violations. After one legal professional pointed out that she didn’t have a law degree, Renee took it as a challenge. She successfully took the LSAT and set her sights on becoming an attorney
She graduated in 2026 from Texas A&M University School of Law, where she served as president of the Women’s Law Student Association and philanthropy chair of the Family Law Association. During law school, she studied abroad in both Scotland and the Channel Islands, focusing on International Trusts and Arbitration. She also participated in many community service events, her favorite being Adoption Day.
Renee’s own experiences also shaped her interest in family law. Her parents divorced when she was 17, giving her a personal understanding of how difficult family transitions can be, particularly for children. That perspective continues to influence her desire to advocate for families, and she hopes to pursue ad litem work in the future.
Outside the office, Renee enjoys tea parties and musicals with her sister and spending time with her longtime boyfriend and their two dogs. She is a lightning-fast reader, can read just about anything upside down, enjoys playing volleyball, and has an uncanny ability to catch just about any animal. Most importantly, Renee lives by a simple philosophy: kindness creates goodness.
