Kandis Rees

Kandis joined Nelson Law Group the summer of 2024, bringing over a decade of experience from three respected law firms, including KoonsFuller in Southlake, TX. Kandis is board-certified in Family Law through the State Bar of Texas and is an alumni of the University of North Texas with a certificate in Paralegal Studies, she has an extensive background in both criminal and family law. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, exceptional drafting skills, and proactive, personal approach to the law, Kandis ensures that every case moves forward efficiently and that each client receives the focused care and unwavering dedication they deserve.

Kandis has long admired Nelson Law Group’s distinguished reputation for excellence. Over the years, she became close friends with fellow paralegal Janene Koiner-Clark and even worked opposite Brett Nelson on a complex, four-year divorce case—an experience that left a lasting impression on both. Mr. Nelson was drawn to her professionalism, work ethic, and commitment to client service, making her a natural fit for the firm’s growing team.

Outside the office, Kandis and her husband, Tony, have been together since Saint Patrick’s Day in 2012. They share two energetic boys and two dogs. The Rees family are proud, lifelong Dallas Cowboys fans. As season ticket holders, they can be found in the heart of the AT&T Stadium tailgate crowd with their fully decked-out Cowboys fan bus (complete with a “Cowboys Fans Only” stop sign). In her free time, Kandis enjoys singing at church and cheering from the sidelines at her sons’ baseball and soccer games.
